Taco Air Scoops combine with a Taco Hy-Vent automatic air vent—and, optionally, a diaphragm-type expansion tank—to ensure silent, efficient comfort in a hydronic system. The 434-5 uses a precisely-engineered baffle to effectively separate air and water as they flow through the body of the scoop. Air is shunted out through the Hy-Vent or into your expansion tank. By separating and removing the air from your hydronic system, the Air Scoop improves heat transfer and reduces noise levels. Solid, one piece cast-iron construction means that Taco Air Scoops have the reliability and longevity to improve your hydronic system for years to come. Zero Servicing Taco's innovative Air Scoop design does not require servicing or maintenance. Once installed, the "&b1040&" provides worry-free air separation for the life of the Air Scoop. Steel Expansion Tank Support If a diaphragm-type expansion tank isn't right for your application, don't worry. The "&b1042&" has an additional connection for a plain steel expansion tank, making it suitable for high temperature systems.
